Hair transplantation expert

Jean%20Devroye_zpsjothkuie

Dr. Jean Devroye graduated at the University of Liegi, Belgium, in Medicine, Surgery and Obstetrics.

For more than 15 years, Dr. Devroye only performs hair transplants. He developed this passion at the end of the 1990s, when he decided to move in the USA to complete his formation with Dr. John Cole (Atlanta, USA).

Other doctors, such as Dr. Bradley Wolf, (Cincinnati, USA), Dr. Ron Shapiro (Minneapolis, USA) and Dr. Robert Bernstein (New York, USA), recognised for being the best hair transplant doctors worldwide, helped Dr. Devroye with his formation. This way he improved his experience, both practical and theoretical, even more.

Moreover, Dr. Devroye is specialised in eyebrow, beard and moustache transplant with the FUE, FUT and BHT technique.

A real innovator, he focuses to improve the technical instrumentation for hair transplants.
During the last 6 years he has developed and patented his own motorised system and tools for the follicular units extraction.
He is recognised by his colleagues for his researches about the quality of the regrowth of the grafted hair. He has recently received, by the FUE Research Committee, the task to guide a global study about the regrowth of the grafts.

Dr. Devroye is active on the international level and likes to share his knowledge, since he know the importance of such sharing.  That is the reason why he joins many congresses and seminaries, in which he is often invited to present his work or to perform surgery demonstrations, most of the times at the ISHRS.
These congresses are places of exchange and discovery, occasions to show and share his technique and instrumentation.
Moreover, Dr. Devroye is the author of many articles and chapters in book about hair transplant.

Curriculum Vitae

Since 2000 Dr. Devroye exclusively manages his private clinic in Bruxelles, Belgium, specialised in hair transplant (with FUE, FUT and BHT techniques). He is assisted by 15 people, medical and administrative staff.

TECHNICAL INVENTIONS AND RESEARCHES

2009/2017 – Design and dissemination of a FUE pedal associated with a manual oscillating tool. The variability of the speed and of the oscillation has been regularly demonstrated during several live demonstrations.

The pedal FUE WAW

As a real third hand, it allows us to make a very precise FUE surgery, perfectly similar to a total manual work.  It presents many advantages and contributed to the improvement of the FUE quality level.

Dr. Jerry Wong and Dr. Ron Shapiro, to mention some of the most known, already use the pedal FUE WAW (www.devroyeinstruments.com/).

2014/2017 – Design and dissemination of some FUE punches, in different designs. These punches are designed in order to be compatible with the pedal.

2016 – He joins the Dr. James Harris’ research about the comparison between the level of regrowth of the FUE and FUT surgeries on a same patient.

2014/2015 – In charge of the global study about the regrowth of the grafts transectioned in the donor area on behalf of the FUE Research Committee. The results have been presented during the 23rd annual ISHRS congress, Chicago, September 2015.

2015 – Partner of the FUE study: “Implanter VS forceps”, in collaboration with Dr. Parsa Mohebi.

2012/2015 – Design and free dissemination of a software “TGQ” (Transection graft quality). With it, is i possible to obtain a precise preview of the quality of the grafts. Moreover, it individually calculates the main level of transection. Such a software allows to understand the quality of an FUE surgery.

2008 – The first version of “Hairmes” was presented at the 16th annual ISHSR congress in Montreal. This software, developed in collaboration with Alexandre Duvallet (software developer), can measure the density and the transplant area.

2000 – First presentation of a USB photo camera to observe done and recipient area. The presentation was carried out during the ESHRS meeting in London.

2000 – Software that calculates the surface of the recipient area and the FUE density.
