HDC clinic is located in the city of Nicosia, Cyprus.

It was one of the first clinics in Europe to offer interventions via FUE (since 2003).

The goal of HDC has always been that of a progressive improvement of surgical techniques to offer the patient the best aesthetic result possible.

At the HDC clinic interventions are performed by Dr. Kyriakos Maras and by Dr. Vryonidou, assisted by a staff of 5 technicians with a five-year experience.

HDC surgeons are accredited by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons (ISHRS) and the European Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ESHRS).

Technical assistants continuously attend refresher courses.

At HDC strip technique transplants are performed (mega sessions up to 5000 follicular units), as well as with FUE and BHT techniques (transplant hair of the body).

It is interesting to note how HDC clinic was among the first clinics in Europe to adopt the tricofitic suture with which it is possible to make much less visible the scar resulting from a strip technique intervention.

Hair Transplantation HDC in Cyprus –  large numbers, high quality

Every year about 250 hair transplants are performed at HDC and patients come from all over Europe.

In the cases of patients with advanced baldness the approach of combo strip+FUE+BHT surgery is often adopted, through which it is possible to maximize the number of follicular units that can be extracted in a session (when possible up to 6500 follicular units).

Dr. Maras is the medical director of the HDC clinic and he performs the surgery when the patient has suitable characteristics, interventions high density (50-60 u.f per cm2) using individual follicular units in critical areas, such as the hair line.

Dr. Maras usually use the mono-layer scalpel for the extraction of the strip to reduce to a minimum the transection rate.

Dr. Maras uses 20-gauge needles for the incisions for single follicular units and 21-gauge needles for the larger size follicular units. Creating smaller incisions minimizes trauma to the scalp and maximizes achievable density.

All follicular units obtained via strip are then prepared under the microscope.

Dr. Maras uses manual extraction for FUE using a Cole Instruments punch of variable diameter, from 0.8 to 1 mm, depending on the characteristics of the patient.

In some cases he also uses a motorized punch.

Usually 2500 and 3000 follicular units are extracted via FUE in 2 days.

At HDC clinic we pay much attention to all related aspects, not only to the surgery, but also to the patients’ stay, with the possibility offered to patients to stay at the clinic’s apartment.

HDC clinic is part of Bellicapelli Forum since 2006.
