RECOMMENDED TREATMENT

This 32 year old patient wished to reconstruct his beard, which had a visible lack of density especially in the cheek area.

Given the good number of resources available in the beard donor area (the area below the chin and neck), we agreed to use only grafts from the beard donor area – the most reliable body hair. When they are available, I always recommend using beard hairs to perform a beard transplant: in fact, they are proven to be the best resource for achieving a natural result. We could have also considered using other body hairs (for example, hairs from the chest or pubis); however, these hairs are generally more fragile, and therefore less reliable in terms of transection and regrowth.

As can be appreciated in the photographs published below, the patient experienced very early regrowth and almost no loss of the transplanted grafts. The donor area of the beard also recovered very quickly: in fact, the signs of the extractions were almost invisible just one month after the operation. Six months later, the change was already evident. The photographs that the patient sent one year after surgery show the final result.

✓ Selection and extraction of follicular units performed with the WAW system, conceived and designed by Dr. Devroye and now widely used in the field of FUE.
It consists of a very precise pedal to control the movement of the punch, also designed by the Doctor.
