BIOGRAPHY OF DR.AHMED ALTAN

Dr.Ahmed Altan is a Turkish surgeon born in Eskisehir (Turkey).

Dr.Altan began his medical studies at the recognised University of Sofia (Bulgaria) and continued his training for the next 2 years at the prestigious Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. Upon his return to Bulgaria, he completed his specialisation in plastic surgery with excellent results.

Dr.Altan has extensive experience in the medical field and keeps himself constantly up to date with the latest developments in the surgical field.

From 2007 to 2009 he worked at the emergency department of Pirogov Hospital in Sofia, Bulgaria
From 2009 to 2010 worked as an assistant at the National Heart Hospital in Sofia – Bulgaria
From 2012 to 2014 he attended the course and obtained a master’s degree in hair transplantation with FUE technique.

Since 2016 he has held the position of hair surgeon and director of Aesterpool clinic, located in Istanbul, Turkey.

Since 2016 to date, Dr.Altan has operated on approximately 9000 patients, changing and improving their quality of life thanks to the excellent hair transplantation results. The doctor is fluent in English, Bulgarian and Turkish.

The doctor’s focus is on reconstructing the hairline in a completely natural way, planning the procedure individually with the patient, taking into account the patient’s expectations and surgical criticalities.

Dr.Altan has personally trained the medical staff that assists him during the procedure, which is one of the assets of the Aestepool clinic.
Dr.Altan accepts a maximum of 2 patients per day to focus more on quality than quantity.

The doctor meets all his patients personally during the pre-operative consultation to explain them all the aspects of the surgery and clarify all the doubts and perplexities of the patient.

During this consultation Dr.Altan draws together with the patient the hairline and plans the surgical strategy. The doctor is always present in the operating room during the operation and takes care personally of the opening of the canals (incisions).
The design and naturalness of the hairline are of utmost importance to Dr.Altan, who takes care to select the finest hair and single follicular units to be grafted in the first few millimetres of the hairline to ensure an absolutely natural result. For the doctor it is crucial that no one should be able to notice that one of his patients has undergone a hair transplant. The doctor takes his patients’ facial proportions into account when creating the hairline design, which differs from patient to patient.

If the patient has good features, Dr.Altan can perform up to 4000 FUE grafts in one operation, making dense packs with grafts up to 65-70 follicular units per cm2, if necessary and the patient’s blood circulation allows it.

Dr.Altan regularly performs repair operations for patients who have unfortunately undergone previous operations with unsatisfactory results. The doctor in these cases can reconstruct a new, more natural hairline or increase density where necessary.
