DR. CHIARA INSALACO: 2500 GRAFTS – REPAIR
Repair Case
38 year old patient
Long hair transplant
Result at 7 months
Patient History:
At the age of 26 years, he had a Strip transplant surgery (in another foreign structure) for hairline thickening with about 900 FU’s
Complications: Low hairline, straight, asymmetrical and with Plugs (very large Follicular Units and fake with doll effect) in the hairline and over the years progression of baldness with retraction of the gulfs.
Surgical proposal of Dr. Insalaco
– I intervention to remove the “plugs” from the hairline
– II intervention at a distance of at least 3 months, with reconstruction of the hairline, gulfs and frontal area
Patient Request:
The patient for reasons of work and presentability in public asks to first perform the re-thinning of the thinning areas and then, with the results obtained, remove I Plugs from the first line.
Technical comments:
Donor area with thick and long scar strip, therefore limited number of UF to be taken.
Dr. explains to the patient that the false effect of the first line can be reduced with the new transplant but not completely removed, until the plugs are surgically removed from the first line.
The transplant was performed on long hairs
The Cole Instruments punch used was 95 mm, 2.8 mm deep (CIT technique).
Total Follicular Units = 2500
Result shown at 7 months
At 12 months the patient will undergo a second surgical removal of the plugs and thickening of the hairline.
