Patient operated in a low cost turkish clinic with Strip technique, the result of which had a devastating impact on the patient: acute depression, weight gain, total cancellation of social and working life.
The patient unfortunately presented 5-6-7 units even in the hairine, with incorrect angulation, too deep insertion of the same, formation of sebaceous cysts and recurrent infections, an unsightly occipital scar, all associated with an impoverishment of both the donor and the recipient due to the trauma.

Surgical plan: Dr. De Freitas opted for a strategy of 3 operations to be performed one year apart.

1st operation (1792 FUE grafts):

– Removal of some of the multiple follicular units from the hairline with a 0.8 mm punch. Some were too deep to be removed, in which case the patient had to undergo diode laser sessions for removal.
– Frontal and temporal line repair.

2nd surgery (1609 FUE grafts):

– Removal of other of the multiple follicular units with 0.8 mm punch.
– Repair and redensification of the frontal, temporal and crown line.

FIRST OPERATION – 1792 GRAFTS WERE

1 Graft – 362 = 362 hairs.

4 Grafts – 79 = 316 hairs.
5 Grafts – 4 = 20 hairs.

3908 HAIRS ÷ 1792 FOLLICLES = 2.18 HAIRS/FOLLICLE.

Motorized extraction: 0.8 mm punch.

Graft insertion: Lion implanters.

Postoperative treatment: Finasteride 1mg, Minoxidil foam 5%, Ketoconazole shampoo 2%.

3548 HAIRS ÷ 1609 FOLLICLES = 2.20 HAIRS/FOLLICLE.
