The patient we present today is a Norwood 5A – 6 with the goal of obtaining coverage of the entire bald area from the hair line to the crown.

The distinguishing features of his hair and skin were as follows:

Very fine hair, below average scalp laxity, medium to high scalp skin tone/hair color contrast, below average number of hairs per follicular unit.

A total of 6248 follicular units were used in 2 surgeries with a higher graft density for the hair line and first frontal third and a scaled density for the mid and crown.

The first surgery produced 3775 follicular units the second 2473 follicular units.

First surgery:

1 hair 652, 2 hairs1904, 3 hairs 1010, 4 hairs 209. Total 8326 hairs, an average of 2.20 hairs per FU.

Second surgery:

1 hair 554, 2 hair 1276, 3 hair 543, 4 hair 100. Total 5135 hair, an average of 2.07/FU

Total 13,461 hairs, and 2.15 hairs per FU.
